Our Highland beef is not only delicious, but it is also GOOD FOR YOU.

Compared to traditional, grain-finished beef, our grass-fed Highland beef is:
  • Lower in Fat
  • Lower in Cholesterol
  • Higher in Protein
  • Higher in Iron
  • Higher in CLA and Omega 3 fatty acids

This beef is outstanding. There is simply no other way to put it. Try one of our filets or rib-eyes and the quality will speak for itself.

LAMB MEAT

One of the highlights here at Running River Ranch, grassfed lamb has a flavor that is unlike any other meat out there. It is extremely lean, tender, juicy, and can be prepared many different ways. Furthermore, Lamb is an excellent source of iron, zinc, and B vitamins. It also contains other minerals not found in other meats such as selenium, copper, and manganese.

BOER GOAT MEAT

Though goat meat is not as popular in the United States as beef, chicken, or even lamb, it is actually extremely popular in the rest of the world. In fact, 70% of all red meat consumed in the world is goat. Take one taste of it and you will see why; it is truly excellent! The meat is very lean with little to no fat inside with a texture very similar to quality pork. The taste is not unlike dark turkey or beef.

As with Running River Ranch's other products, our goat meat is very nutritious. According to the USDA, a 3-ounce serving of goat meat has only 122 calories and 2.6 grams of fat (of which, less than 1 gram is saturated fat). That's even leaner than chicken, which is reported at 162 calories and 6.3 grams of fat (1.7 saturated fat)! Both meats have around 25 grams of protein for that same serving and the Goat meat also has the added benefit of extra iron and B12.

THE BENEFITS OF GRASSFED MEATS

Since the late 1990s, farmers in the United States have begun returning to their roots, grass roots, that is. Rather than sending their livestock to feedlots where they are fattened on grain, soy, and other supplements, many are now keeping their animals on the range where they can forage on grass, their native diet. As a result, the animals are not injected with growth hormones or chemicals and, thus, grow at a natural rate.

The grassfed lifestyle has led to healthier livestock which has, in turn, led to healthier meats. When compared to their feedlot counterparts, grassfed beef, lamb, and goat meat are higher in vitamin E, beta-carotene, vitamin C, and essential healthy fats like Omega 3 and CLA. Inversely, grassfed meats are also lower in cholesterol, saturated fat, and calories.

Simply put, Grassfed meats promote a healthier lifestyle and are of the very highest quality!
