The first full-blood Boers were introduced into the United States in
1993. Since that time, interest in the breed has seen tremendous growth, and for good reasons. Boers are
naturally disease resistant and adaptable to a variety of climates. They prefer "browse", defined as "tender
shoots, twigs, and leaves of trees and shrubs"and weeds to grass, so they are a good choice if you have wooded or weedy land
and are a natural complement to a beef operation, too.
Boers are known for multiple births and can remain productive and healthy
in excess of ten years. They are fast growing, capable of reproduction at an early age, well-muscled, and of a gentle
temperament. Their meat is lean and flavorful, and the demand for Boer meat is strong and growing.
We are dedicated to raising healthy, well-muscled, structurally correct Boers
through good, diversified genetics and a "best practices" health management philosophy.
Whether you are raising livestock for a large commercial operation, a small
family business or simply for the fun of it, Boers are an excellent choice for a variety of reasons!
